The East Tennessee Region for TEMA consists
of the 36 counties east of the Eastern Time Zone boundary. |
|
The region consists of rolling hills that gradually
become the Appalachian Mountains, and includes the Great Smoky Mountains
National Park. Much of the area is heavily forested, lending itself to
significant wildfires in drier times of the year. |
The major hazards present in the East Tennessee region are:
